Executive Lens (noun) Pronunciation: /ig-ZEK-yuh-tiv lenz/

The term "Executive Lens" or "Franklin Lens" finds its origin in the bifocal eyeglass concept attributed to Benjamin Franklin, who is believed to have designed this type of eyewear in the 18th century to address his own presbyopia. Today, modern iterations of the "Executive Lens" remain popular among professionals seeking practical and versatile vision correction solutions for their busy and dynamic lifestyles.

This style of lens of dual focusing lenses represents the dual focus of the studio’s photography on both headshots and portraits. A headshot is a type of photograph that focuses primarily on a person's face, typically used for professional purposes like resumes, professional profiles, or acting portfolios. On the other hand, a portrait is a more comprehensive representation of an individual, capturing their entire persona, sometimes including their body, background, and surroundings, with the aim of conveying their personality, character, or a specific mood.

The phrase "through an Executive Lens" also refers to a figurative viewpoint or perspective adopted by high-level executives, such as CEOs or senior management, when analyzing business-related matters. This captures the studio’s attention to work with the client to fully capture their professional persona in their final corporate image.

The headshot is a greeting. It is your first impression in the digital age.The best headshots are authentic, flattering and capture the person being their true selves. Many people will tense up when a camera is pointed at them or put on a insincere smile. It is up to the photographer to fix this. Clients should leave the shoot with a smile and skip in their step.

Images that showcase one’s confidence, and also one’s approachability, convey the subject’s self esteem, empathy and professionalism. I travel the country visiting studios, studying under the world’s best photographers, not only to learn how to take better images, but also to learn how to customize the experience to the very special person that’s in front of me at the time.
